“These recipes are more than just food. They're stories.”
She found Pacific Northwest food while studying at Reed College and cooking in Portland restaurants. For more than a decade in Los Angeles she worked as a personal chef, food stylist and culinary producer, including CBS's Emmy-nominated Recipe Rehab and Tastemade's James Beard Award-winning Thirsty For. In 2018 she came back to Portland to open Beetroot Market & Deli, which the pandemic closed.
Her first book, Braids, came out in 2023: the challah, babka and matzo ball soup from Beetroot, wild mushroom blintzes, marionberry rugelach. Today she teaches pelmeni, vareniki and challah, co-hosts the Food Friends podcast and leads Portland farmers' market tours.
