He is self-taught. He began outdoors, painting en plein air from direct observation. He has painted professionally since 2009.
He has won Best in Show three times at Plein Air & More in Cannon Beach and twice at Sonoma Plein Air. OPB's Oregon Art Beat profiled him, and American Art Collector and PleinAir have written about him. His recent work is large canvases in which landscape becomes a language for memory and the search for home.
His paintings are sold at the Portland Art Museum Rental Sales Gallery, Dragonfire Gallery in Cannon Beach and Peterson Contemporary Art in Bend.
