Tampopo
November 15, 7:00 PM
Juzo Itami called his 1985 film a “ramen western,” and its genres really are mixed. Two truck drivers stop at a shabby roadside noodle shop, and its owner, the widow Tampopo, asks them to help her learn to make real noodle soup. Between the chapters of this story come short satirical sketches about the place food holds in human life. A comedy about taste and desire, best not watched on an empty stomach.
