Henry Diltz shot more than 250 album covers of the 1960s and 1970s, among them The Doors’ Morrison Hotel. In 1969 he was the official photographer of Woodstock. He photographed Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Crosby, Stills & Nash and Jimi Hendrix in natural light, as if no photographer were in the room. The title of the evening, Behind The Lens, promises the story of how these pictures came to be.
