Anya Kalina

Anya Kalina was recorded by the USSR’s largest record company as a child. Born in western Ukraine to two opera singers, she sang on television and radio from childhood, took a degree in vocal performance and pedagogy in Moscow, lived in Los Angeles from the early 2000s, and has been in Portland since 2009. Here she is the Executive Artistic Director and soprano of Portland Chamber Music, which brings chamber concerts to neighbourhoods classical music rarely reaches. She teaches voice and piano one to one, grounded in breathing and the Alexander Technique.
