Cedric Watson brings old sounds back to life: French and Spanish contredanses and bourrées together with Congo rhythms that came to Louisiana with people sold into slavery. His repertoire includes forgotten Creole melodies, rare reels by Dennis McGee, Cajun and zydeco, and sometimes a tune for bluegrass fiddle.
