The Japanese word kaeru means several things at once: to return home, to transform, and frog. Portland Taiko builds its fall program around this play of meanings, with pieces about the Northwest, about Portland and about what home is. Taiko are Japanese drums played as an ensemble. In the fall, the group brings its largest drums to the stage.
