The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra closes its season with Gustav Mahler’s Second Symphony. On the podium is Salvador Brotons, who has led the orchestra since 1991. The large-scale work calls for a big orchestra, choir and soloists, and some of the brass will be placed offstage. An hour before the concert, the conductor gives a pre-concert talk at Skyview Concert Hall.
