Annie grew out of Harold Gray’s newspaper comic strip and became a classic Broadway musical, largely thanks to the song Tomorrow. New York in the 1930s: orphan Annie escapes the orphanage of cruel Miss Hannigan to find her parents, and instead finds a new home with billionaire Oliver Warbucks, befriending President Roosevelt and a mutt named Sandy along the way. Music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin, book by Thomas Meehan. A show for families where the adults know the songs as well as the kids.
