Portland Playhouse’s A Christmas Carol has long been a Portland holiday tradition, and this season it is staged by a new director, Cassie Greer. It is a musical version of Dickens’s story, adapted with lyrics by Rick Lombardo and music by Anna Lackaff and Lombardo. Jimmy Garcia plays Scrooge, and the tale of a miser forced to reconsider his life in a single night remains a story about memory, change and generosity. A good first theater outing with children before the holidays.
