The Outsiders
Nov 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24, 7:30 PM
Tulsa, Oklahoma, 1967: Ponyboy Curtis, his friend Johnny Cade and their street crew feud with kids from wealthy families. The musical grew out of Hinton’s novel The Outsiders and Francis Ford Coppola’s film. The songs are by Justin Levine and folk-rock band Jamestown Revival, and the show was directed by Danya Taymor. Those who read the book as teenagers should go for its central idea: there is still a lot of good in the world.
