In the MettaSun program, Jimetta Rose takes several of his recordings and uses them to tell her own story, one with jazz, gospel, resistance and escape. The set includes “Somebody Else's Idea,” “Sleeping Beauty,” “I'll Wait for You,” “Springtime Again” and “Nuclear War.” It is a tribute to June Tyson, vocalist of the Arkestra, and an attempt to imagine a world where love and harmony win.
