The Aruna Quartet saxophone ensemble was founded in 2015 at Texas Tech University. The group won the Grand Prize at the 46th Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and works actively with contemporary composers, commissioning new pieces. At Decibel Sound & Drink the musicians present a program that includes premieres and new collaborations. The quartet’s repertoire ranges from the classics of Alexander Glazunov to contemporary pieces such as Guillermo Lago’s “Sarajevo.”
